Cold Summer Café Press Release

This creative conceptualization was an exercise in fleshing out a dream my husband and I have always shared. The idea of a café that would bring together good coffee and good music and play an important part in encouraging the local music scene is something we would love to see become a reality. Writing about it has been a gratifying way of flexing my skills in this area while also bringing more life to something that often feels out of reach.

Cold Summer Café (CSC) is a combination record store and coffee shop located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Started in 2023 by husband and wife duo James and Jackie Pasqua, CSC is a cozy refuge from the bustling city life in Las Vegas. Their mission is to instill a love of records in the new generation as well as preserve it in older ones, all while enjoying the best possible cup of coffee. Their key market is individuals of all ages with an appreciation for music and coffee. CSC strives to be a safe space for people of all genders, ages, races, backgrounds and sexual orientations. They also strive to be a place where the local music scene can live and grow, a place for artists and music enthusiasts alike.

CSC is debuting a concert series to be held in the café, featuring artists local to the Las Vegas area. Tickets will be sold to keep the events small and cozy. Tickets will be $15 each and 50% of profits will go towards Cold Summer Studios (CSS) summer kids program. Artists wishing to get on the concert series should email promo@coldsummer.com. Concerts will be held every Saturday night at 7 PM inside the café. Sound will be handled by our employee Mark, and PA will be provided by Cold Summer Studios.

The audience for this new project will include current CSC customers, CSS customers, local musicians and music enthusiasts, and tourists in the area looking for cheap entertainment. Stakeholders include the musicians performing, our sound tech Mark and his assistants, and the entire CSC staff.

“Spend your Saturday nights getting cozy at Cold Summer Café!” The USP: Listen to live music while you browse records and sip coffee. The BI: Live music, records and coffee. Flyers will be posted around the area advertising the concert series, and Cold Summer Studios AND CSC will send out postcards to its customers. Flyers will also be posted to CSS and CSC Instagram accounts and stories, and targeted advertising will be purchased. Additionally, an ad will be placed in Las Vegas Weekly each week advertising that week's artist.
